You can look at the front page of the New York Times for your birth date online by going to the New York Times Database. To find other information that covers your date of birth, browse the Baltimore Sun for the day after your birthday either on microfilm on the lower level or in databases by title or browse microfilm copies of news magazines from the week of your birth date.

This site lets you look up famous people that were born on your birthday and gives you a biographical sketch of some of them.
This site, put out by the History Channel displays historical events that happened on your day of birth. (not necessairly the year you were born)
An extensive list of birthdays, deaths, holidays, and historical events dating back to the first century. This site is a great starting point to go on to other sources.

The Reference Department has biographical materials on people from all ages and all walks of life. Encyclopedias work well for biographical information. Use the catalog to search for books on a specific person. Remember to ask the librarian for help. Here is just a sampling of the sources in the referencedepartment to keep in mind when researching:
